Exciting News! - I GOT ENGAGED!!!! | Daily Bow

This is probably my post exciting blog post I have ever written and I just want to share it with the world...I am ENGAGED!!! Since a young girl I have always dreamed of my big day where I get to be the blushing bride with my handsome Prince Charming and now it's all becoming a reality. Nearly a week on since the proposal and I am still very much in shock. I can honestly say that I gained my love for Tom very fast when we got together when I was 14. I got used to his bad habits and got very fond of his ways and means. So now 5 years on, it was a total and utter shock to hear him say the words "Will you marry me?".

So as for the proposal, it was very personal to us. Months and months ago, Tom brought a second hand caravan and completely rebuilt it. He ripped the whole thing apart and built it from scratch. Tom did all the handy work and I did the decorating of it. This alone was very exciting for us and quickly became almost like a miniature home from home. So as the caravan was finished and ready for the road, Tom sneakily planned a weekend trip away for just us. I had no involvement in this and with my birthday coming up I assumed it was for that. Little did I know, that I would leave home a girlfriend and come back a fiance. I love the caravan and was looking forward to spending time with Tom. He took me to the seaside town at Weston Super Mare in England where he proposed to me on the Grand Pier. I love the seaside and it already set the scene for a romantic gesture. We've been here for a few years running and every time I get excited to have fun on the pier and look out at the sea. It now holds even fonder memories of the time that Tom proposed to me. We were sat looking out at the sea as he told me that he had a surprise for me. I turned around expecting a birthday present to see Tom with a little box in his hands and I heard the words "Will you marry me?". I was so unbelievably shocked! When you are younger, you imagine your reaction to be totally shocked and immediately shout yes. In reality my reaction was so surprised that I spent about 10 minutes asking Tom if he was serious and if it was a joke. Tom usually isn't very good at keeping surprises but he was really sneaky when it come to this...so sneaky that his family and my family knew all about it. I am usually like the FBI of girlfriends, if there's something to know I will know it but this time around I failed. When I realised that this wasn't a joke, I finally hugged him and said yes! Well that's not totally true, for a joke I did say no to start, but Tom knew I was joking. He then placed this gorgeous shiny ring with this perfect diamond on to my finger..suddenly it felt real and I got the feeling I always imagined.

It was such a shock, that I didn't know what to do next. Who do I tell first? Who already knew? How did this happen? I had so many thoughts rushing around my head. We decided to spend a while enjoying the moment together before we rushed to ring people. As we realised my ring was slightly too big, we then popped into a jewelers to get it shrunk to fit. I was so nervous to loose it, especially after all the effort Tom had put in. Whilst we waited for my ring to be done, Tom treated me to a bottle of M&S champagne to which we could toast later that night in the caravan during sunset. When my ring was shrunk, it fit perfectly like Cinderella's slipper. The princess shall go to the ball. I felt like just shouting at the top of my voice "Everyone look at me! I am engaged!". Later that night, me and Tom returned to our caravan and spent time calling our family members to let them know the good news. All of them were very supportive and happy which was lovely to know. I was still very much in shock but all the congratulations was lovely to here. We then popped the top of the bottle of champagne and said a little toast then drank away. It was a very special moment indeed.

Since the engagement last week, everyone within our family has been spoiling us with lots of attention and cards. Moments you only dream of. As a typical girl, who has planned her wedding since she was about 8, I already started to think of wedding plans and arrangements. It does seem very early to consider such things, but with weddings being as expensive as they are, I feel it's best to look at prices of things to aid us in our saving. Not only that but it gives me so much excitement and having lots to think about and plan. I love being organised. So far, I have noticed that it's very easy to get wrapped up in wedding madness and become Bridezilla, so I have to keep reminding myself that one day to show your love of the person, does not mean one day to flash your cash and show off. My opinion is, its the wedding that's important, it's the marriage! And I know that even if we could not have the wedding I have grew up to wish for, I would still wish to marry the man of my dreams.

What's in my Make Up Travel Bag? | Daily Bow

This weekend I am very lucky to be having a mini break to the Seaside, so I thought I would take this opportunity to show you what I am taking with me. Considering I am currently listening to the Frozen Soundtrack (which is not very summery), I am so excited to have fun in the sun this weekend.

As I am only going away for two days, I am not going to be needing very much so I have gone through my make up collection to decide what I am going to need. This is what I have gotten it down to.

You may have seen me using this in previous blog posts, but this is my Cath Kidston oil cloth storage bag. I wont go into to much detail as I have talked about it before, but I really love this bag. It fits everything in, is easy to clean and to carry around. Also it's really on trend with it's floral print and double sided pockets. I think this bag is really good value for money and I use it all the time to store my make up/hair accessories. I will also be using my Cath Kidston solider purse bag to be storing my smaller make up bits and to carry in my hand bag.

I will be spending the weekend with my boyfriend and do not plan on wearing much make up. I like to be as make up free as I can so I do not spend my weekend re-applying it throughout the day. I have packed some basic essentials so that I can quickly apply my make up with no fuss. I definatley do not plan on wearing any foundation this weekend, but I thought I was best to pack some in case I have a bad skin day or go out on the evening. I have packed my "ELF Tinted Moisturizer" for day time wear as not only does it have SPF 20 but it's low key and just gives me a slight glow. This is the kind of thing I like to apply to give my face a bit of colour. It's easy to apply and small enough to carry around in a small day time handbag. The other foundation I will be taking with me is the "Rimmel London Wake Me Up Foundation" in the colour Ivory. I like this foundation for more of an evening colour. Considering it's the lightest colour they make of this foundation, I like it because it's a bit darker for my skin which gives me more of an evening glow without looking orange. I will be avoiding wearing foundation but as a go to foundation this is what I will be wearing. It buffs really well into the skin without leaving streaks or stains and it does not take a lifetime to apply. The quicker the better this weekend.

I will only be taking two make up brushes with me as like I said I will avoid wearing much on my face this weekend. The one's I will be taking are the "Real Techniques Expert Face Brush" and the "MAC simply blusher brush". These are to apply my foundation and blusher of course. I am not bothering to take any contouring brushes or concealer brushes as this weekend will all be about the "less is more" vibe. I will also be taking my "Real Techniques Shadow Brush" to apply my eye shadow.

I am taking three lipsticks and one lip-gloss with me for this trip which seems a bit extreme for 2 days but I think you can never carry too many lipsticks at once. All of the lipsticks are peachy pinks which are subtle and easy to wear throughout the day as well as the night. They are all really nice and easy to apply and help jazz up any outfit. I have really colourful clothes to wear over the weekend and I think these colours will really compliment my outfit choices for any occasion.

Excuse the bad quality but this lipstick has been used quite alot. This is the "Collection" lipstick in Perfect Pink which is shade number 2. This lipstick is great for casual and dressy looks so I think with it being so versatile it's a must have in my travel make up bag.

This is my "Natural Collection" lipstick in the shade Candy Mist. I think this a really sweet lipstick as it's very natural and is perfect for wearing in the day time. It's very pale and cute. I really enjoy wearing this on a low key kind of day.

Here is my "MUA" matte lipstick in Peachy Keen. This is the more orange toned lipstick which I love wearing throughout the day. It's slightly different to your average pink shade and it's great for Spring/Summer.

Here are a selection of goodies that I will be taking. These include my "Elf Baked Blush", my "Seventeen" black eyeliner and my "Avon" lipgloss in pink. I think this blusher is a really pretty shimmery shade which is perfect for Spring/Summer. It gives a natural shine to your face and is soft on your skin. It's small and compact so easy to carry around and apply when needed. I think its very natural looking and low maintenance. I actually got this eyeliner in a gift set for Christmas but I really like it. It's chunky so does not require much sharpening and applies to your water lines really easy. I have decided to take this lipgloss with me as I think it jazzes up your lipstick when you wear it over the colour. It's super smooth and leaves your lips feeling soft. It's also nice when you wear it alone and makes it a really nice day time natural look.

The next two products are a must have! My "Urban Decay Naked" Palettes of course. I could not leave these at home! I love both of these palettes as you can mix and match to create your desired look. The Naked 3 is lovely to wear in the day, and the Naked 2 is lovely for the night time. Both are versatile to wear for either which means I have lots of choice for colours to match with my outfits.

I am not going to be using my favourite mascara this weekend. I am going to use my more natural one which is in a "black/brown" shade. The mascara I will be taking is the "Collection Super Size Fat Lash Mascara". I like this because it applies thin and spreads my lashes out evenly. It's not thick and hard to apply.

Next thing on my list to take is my "Katy Perry Oh Honey Eyelashes". I take these everywhere with me as you never know when you will want them. They really widen my eyes and make me feel nice so I will enjoy wearing these at some point over the weekend. I have lots of experience when it come's to applying false eyelashes and sometimes think that these are easier to apply these then fiddling with mascara. The glue is also very strong meaning I would wear them from day to night.

I will be taking my essential eye lash curlers with me also to give me fuller looking lashes. These were from Primark for £1 and have lasted me at least a year. They curl your lashes so good that they look naturally curly and open your eyes up.

So once I've worn all this makeup, how am I going to take it off? My "Johnsons Face wipes" of course. These are my all time favourite face wipes as they leave my face feeling soft, refreshed and really clean. They take off make up so quickly and do not dry out causing my eyes to feel sore after wards like some face wipes do.

So that's all I will be taking with me this weekend. Does it seem alot? or not enough? Let me know what you think in the comments below and be sure to share my blog post to your friends. Use this blog as inspiration for you and your next traveling session.

My Birthday Wishlist 2014 | Daily Bow

Normally, I would 100% never agree to doing a post like this as I think it can be seen as a bit cheeky and rude but I thought it would be a super fun idea to do for a change. So anyway, my birthday is in a few weeks, and I'm at the stage where everyone keeps asking me what present's I want. For a start, I had asking people for anything and using my current wage I tend to buy all my own things anyway. I tend to just tell everyone "buy me whatever" or "you don't have to buy me anything" and I truly mean it. I'm a girl that loves presents and surprises but I hate to sound cheeky. Especially at Christmas I am usually more excited to give people what I have brought them, rather then excited for what people may have bought me. I think that as you grow older, you loose interest in writing "Birthday present lists" as you buy a lot of it all yourself, but for the purpose of a new blog post I thought I would list a few things that I would like for my Birthday - so I don't have to buy them myself on payday.

As a disclaimer, all the things I am going to write in list are not what I am expecting off people, but simply things that I like and would purchase myself anyway. I also want to point out before I begin, that I will not be disappointed if I don't receive any of these as gifts.

 Frozen

The first thing appearing on my list would be the new and very popular Disney film called "Frozen". This film is just simply amazing. I love the catchy songs and the cute story line which really helps to bring out the inner child in everyone...even my boyfriend loves this film. I could literally listen to the soundtrack all and sing along. It brings me lots of little bubbles of happiness, and I can't think of anything better then spending my birthday night watching this film. I like to think that if I was an actual Disney Princess then I would be Elsa and wear a pretty icicle themed dress and swing my lovely long blonde locks around. I then also have to remember that I am an adult now and should keep these childish thoughts to myself haha.

Katy Perry False Eyelashes

For birthday's and Christmas, you literally can't go wrong as I always like to receive eyelashes. For the past 4 years on every occasion my sister will buy me false eyelashes - it's pretty much become a tradition. Thing is, as time's gone on I have become very picky on the eyelashes I like to wear. There was a stage in my life where I only ever liked wearing eyelashes from the Pound Shop. Not only were they mega cheap of course but they suited my eyes really well. As I only have small eyes, I often find it really hard to find eyelashes that I don't have to cut to shape. There's no worse beauty chore then fiddling with false eyelashes. This is where my love for the Katy Perry eyelashes come in handy. Not only are they a brand designed by one of my favourite ladies ever (Katy of course) but they fit my eyes perfectly. No picking, no cutting, no shaping...literally apply the glue and stick! They are perfect. Her design of eyelashes are also really natural looking. I don't like my every day lashes to look false, so her "Sweetie Pie" set do the trick for more casual looks. My second favourite design are her "Oh Honey" eyelashes. These are the set I tend to wear on night out or glamorous event. They are slightly longer and fuller but still look natural. They are really good quality eyelashes and last a long time so they are definatley worth the money in my opinion.

Cups

You've probably seen this heading, and thought cups? why on earth would she want cups? Well, let me tell you. I have no idea why or how it began but I have an obsession with cups and mugs. I think perhaps it stems from the fact that my Nan collect's wine glasses but growing up I have always loved to buy cups. If ever there's a chance for a new cup, I am on it. I have that many cups in the kitchen that they fill up at least 3 cupboards, not to mention the ones I have stored at my Nan's house or displayed in my bedroom. I just think cups are really cute and make good keepsakes. For example, when I used to visit the Disney shop when I was younger I would always come home with a new cup. Half the cups I buy, never get used. I am always so worried of breaking or ruining them that they take place in cupboard and are unused. I worry that when I move out I will have no where to store my cups. Why do I need more you ask? I don't need more, but I think you can't go wrong when buying me a mug so why not.

Vintage things

If you hadn't already guessed then at the moment I am loving every thing old fashioned and Vintage. So for my birthday I would like anything to add to my Vintage collection e.g. teacups/saucers, trinket boxes, bunting or more frames. I really want to dress my room with pretty vintage things as I feel that they are timeless and I will still be able to adore in years to come. Vintage never goes off trend.

Jelly Sandals

I never thought I would be saying this but I would really really like some jelly sandals. When I was younger, I remember that I had a mini obsession with jelly shoes. I would have glitter ones, pink ones, purple ones, ones with little heels...you name it, I had it. Every morning when I would put on my School summer dress I would spend ages deciding which jelly sandals to wear and which socks. I would style them with frilly socks and I thought I was super cool. Years on, I would never imagine in my wildest dreams that jelly sandals would be okay to wear again! I recently seen some in New Look and debated with myself if I should pick some up or not. I went and tried them on with some loose trousers to see if they would suit me, but I bailed out. I kept thinking "hmm what if these aren't as cool as I think and I look silly". Week's on, I've released how on trend these are and now I really want a pair in my wardrobe. With my upcoming holidays, I feel these are a must have to wear in the sunshine with a cute dress or loose patterned trousers. They are the perfect alternative to ordinary sandals and they could be paired with frilly socks.

Vouchers

Every year someone will ask if I want money for my birthday and usually I would think that yes perhaps that's a good idea as it means that I can spend it on whatever I want. For example, last year I got £40 in cash so I spent it on a Cath Kidston back pack which I probably wouldn't have brought if I had not have had the money. Since then, I have started driving and I find that I spend the majority of my cash on petrol for work. So this year my mom is not allowing me to have money for my birthday because she would rather I brought myself something then waste it on petrol which I think is super nice and very true. So this year for my birthday I would really appreciate shopping Vouchers for places like Boots, New Look or MAC cosmetic's. This then allows me to buy whatever I want within limit and spoil myself in make up or fashion luxuries which I probably wouldn't buy using my own money.

These are a few examples of things I would like but not what I am actually asking for. My family and friends are usually fantastic at buying me gifts as they are all so thoughtful so I never normally feel the need to ask for anything. Compared to some people, I actually think I am really easy to buy for: I love cute things, Disney, animals...it's such a wide variety and no matter what the gift is, I will always appreciate what people buy me. I just wanted to make that super clear.

A Mini Sping Bedroom Haul | Daily Bow

So this month I have been feeling very seasonal and wanted to get rid of all the drab from Winter and welcome the Spring into my life. Which also means that it's a perfect excuse to show you all what I have been spending my moolar on. When it's Winter, I love everything to be themed and Christmassy, but now I feel it's time to brighten up my life with cute and colorful things and give my bedroom a little lift in the right direction. So lets begin...

Vintage Photo Frames

Both Frames from The Range at £2.99 each

So here are my ultra cute picture frames that I could not resist buying when I saw them. When I seen these, I literally fell in love. Everything about them has Jess written all over them. For example, the vintage design in white reminds me of something my Great Grandparent's would have had and it fits perfectly with my bedroom theme. They are small and incredibly affordable. I also think that if you are struggling for gift ideas for the ladies in your life then this is the ultimate go to present. I definatley plan on buying many more. These frames are presenting some old picture's of me and Tom which I adore. When I buy more I am going to put picture's of my family getting married in them....i.e my Grandparent's wedding, my Great Grandparents wedding and my Parent's wedding. I think there's something lovely and personal about those picture's and I will hold them close to my heart forever.

Pin Up Ladies Bed Set

Bed room set from George at Asda only £10

So as you may be able to tell, there is a little theme going on here..Vintage. From a young age I have always loved the Pin Up Lady look and always wanted to be a young woman of that era, so when I seen this bed set I had to buy it there and then! I love how the ladies are doing what typical girls love to do...talk on the phone and do their make up. This literally sums me up in one. I am really into pastel shades at the moment and this bed set is full of them so getting into bed at night makes me super happy. I also think that with it being a white base, that it makes your bed look bigger and cleaner. Every one who has seen my bed set has complimented it on how cute it is, so I think this should make an appearance in every girls spring bed room.

Sparkling Lemon Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle from the Yankee Candle Company £12.99

Nothing says Spring fever to me then a fresh smelling candle to freshen up your bedroom. During Winter I used a lot of Cinnamon based scents because they are warmth fragrances, whereas now the Sun is beginning to shine I felt I needed something that was sweet. I brought this candle a few months ago and saved it on purpose for the Spring as I just think it sets the scene lovely. I burn my candle every day and it has lasted so long and leave's my room smelling fresh for ages. I love its bright yellow colour also. The lemon scent is really punchy and strong (but in a good way). Reminds me of two things...lemon cupcakes and lemon washing up liquid so whats not to like?

Floral Print Boxes

George at Asda only £10

Floral print boxes are the way to make your storage look cute. Like most girls, my room is full of stuff I want but don't use so I use these super cute boxes to store it all. They are affordable and really girly. I think these boxes are perfect for storing your make up or hair products which is exactly what I use mine for. Considering how cheap they are to buy, the quality is really good and strong. For £10 you get three different sized boxes with handles which makes them easy to move and will cater for all your storage needs. These will for sure brighten up any messy corner in your room. Once again I love it's white base and almost vintage looking roses as the print. Lucky for me, George at Asda also have these boxes in the pin up ladies print at the moment so as soon as pay day arrives I will be on that. It's also worth me mentioning that you go check out George at Asda's current home section as they have some really really really nice home/bedroom things available at the moment.

Floral Print Photo Frame

Floral Frame from Magical Story Store £4.00 from £6.99

This is actually a naughty purchase of mine...prepare yourself for my honesty here...this was actually brought for a friend *ooppsss*. I brought it last year with a friend in mind for her birthday but I totally forgot to give it to her, so when I found it on top of my wardrobe still wrapped up I thought hmmmm perhaps it's best to stay here with me and kept it for my own selfish needs instead...I know, I am terrible...don't remind me...surely we have all done this before though, right? This frame was brought from a cute village type store called "Magical Story". This place is the BEST for present ideas, it has every cute thing possible. I love it's wooden  "happy times" detailing and the Cath Kidston style floral print design. I searched through all my photo's to find the perfect one for this frame, and this picture won. It's an old picture of me and my beloved wearing children's helmets in Tesco...random but it still makes me laugh.

I have really enjoyed purchasing some of my new little delights and I hope it's given you some Spring inspiration for your bedroom. Please let me know in the comments below which of these purchases you like or dislike...it's always nice to here from you. Be sure to check out my other blogs.

Also, keep your eyes peeled on my posts as I have some super exciting new ones coming soon!
