Valentines Gift Ideas for Him! | Daily Bow

Hello everybody! Before I start, I just want to comment on how fast last weekend has gone! I feel like I blink and it has disappeared. Anyway, it means we are getting closer and closer to the day of love and lovers....that's right...Valentine's Day. Now if you haven't already checked out my latest blog which shown you how to create a super cute Valentine's day inspired make up look then be sure to check it out...it may be useful to you. In this blog I am going to present you with a few nice gift ideas for the gentleman in your life...these ideas are based around that man being your boyfriend, fiance or Husband.

Valentine's day is a day to exchange tokens of affection with those who you love; so I thought I would shoot cupids arrow and help you find the gifts that will show him how much you care.

Gifts that will use his senses

Smell

A great gift to buy for men is after shave...or "man perfume" as I like to call it. There are lots of lovely scented fragrances for men on the market ranging from a lot of prices. Obviously the more of a high end brand it is, the more it will cost you. Remember that just because it's a big brand doesn't mean its going to smell great or last very long so do have a look at the cheaper scents as well. After browsing the men section in Boots, I have picked my favorite scent for men...it's the Paco Rabanne 1 Million for men. I am not joking, this scent is the most glorious thing you will ever smell! If you buy this for your handsome chap, then not only will he look good, but he will smell divine. This scent will send you crazy for him. Also comes in this really shiny gold bottle which is great for him to carry around or will look nice on his bathroom shelf. It's a spicy yet masculine scent. The smell I can imagine a rich man would smell like. This bottle comes in lots of different sizes which will accommodate your money and give him the perfect present.

Every man I know loves to watch films, or read books/magazines so why not buy him something he is going to really enjoy. A clever idea could be to buy your man a years magazines subscription, it's something useful and something he will want. My boyfriend tends to read a lot of hobby magazines so if I were to buy him a subscription I would pick out his favorite mag to make sure he never misses a copy. It's effectively a Valentine's gift that keeps on giving.

To order your mans favorite magazine subscriptions then click on the link below for more. This website offers really good discounts and offers that may be useful to you.

Perhaps if your man is not into magazines but is a keen reader then be sure to check out the top ten books for men which will be an interesting read for him.

Think of the films that your lover likes...does he like action? drama? horror? comedy? Whatever he is into I bet there is a film you can buy that he will enjoy. Buying a film also gives you something to on Valentine's night if you don't have any plans. Generally the cost of an average DVD is £11 depending on how long it has been out of the charts. Do not forget that instead of a movie, you could buy his favorite box set which will keep him quiet for a while.
Using the films that I know my boyfriend likes, I thought I would show you some examples of new chart toppers and some golden oldies. All DVD's shown below can be found using this link:

If you are not sure what film to buy for your man then why not buy him a Netflix membership. Netflix is a fantastic website that offers unlimited films that you can watch through your TV or laptop for only £5.99 a month! (Or around that price). This is a great gift as it allows your partner to watch as many films as he wants from a wide range of choice! You never know, he may also let you watch one or two chick flicks from time to time. Perfect!

Hear

Think about what music your man likes to listen to and perhaps buy him an album of his favourite artists. Another thing that is really popular lately is buying vinyls. They look great as decorations, and if he has an old player then they sound superb!
An album that I recommend this week would be the "You Me At Six- Cavalier Youth" sound track. I'm a huge fan of this British band anyway and have been for a long time but this album is immense. It's a mixture for boys and girls, as the male song writers sing about things that men can relate to. Some remember able and excellent tracks which will have him singing away or playing his air guitar. Be sure to know that if he is a fan on this band and album then they are currently on tour which is an awesome present for someone.

If your not sure what music he likes, or he already has one million albums then why not buy him an iTunes voucher. You can get the gift cards which have codes to type into iTunes and use the money to buy whatever music, podcasts and TV shows using the money provided on the card. These gift cards really help and any music lover will love you for this thoughtful gift.

Touch

How about buy your man something to wear, like a nice shirt or some shoes that he likes. Fashion is often expensive but it's all about the bargain hunting! I'm quite lucky in that I basically pick what my boyfriend wears...unfortunately he has limited fashion sense and uses me as his guide...in other words, I buy the clothes and he wears them. But there is a limit to what he likes so I have to search a range of shops until I find the type of things he likes. If your like me then I recommend you do some online browsing to find any offers on clothes or sale items. For this section I am not going to link you to clothes, but I am going to link websites that currently have men's sales or offers.

  • River Island - http://www.riverisland.com/men/sale
  • New Look - http://www.newlook.com/shop/mens/mens-sale_30162
  • Topman - http://www.topman.com/?geoip=home
  • Matalan - http://www.matalan.co.uk/mens/offers/sale
  • Jd Sports - http://www.jdsports.co.uk/
However, if you are unsure of what clothes to pick for your partner then you could always take the easy yet thoughtful option of buying him a gift card. This way he can spend the money off the card when he likes on the clothes he wants to buy. There's nothing worse then buying someone something that they don't like or wear for the sake of it, so this year make sure it's something that he wants using this card. Often the gift cards are allowed to be used in many different clothing stores so it also gives him a lot of choice and variety.

Boot's offer a wide range of gift cards and this one can be found in store or online.

You could even go extra special and bake him something home made. It show's that time and effort has gone into it and I'm sure he will be over the moon with whatever you bake.
Just to let you all know, that it is not essential to buy your partner anything this Valentine's day. A token of affection could simply be by spending time with him which is a gift in itself. Remember, that giving is not receiving and do not expect anything from your partner. If he's anything like my boyfriend then he will show you he loves and cares for you all year around and that's the only gift a girl needs. However, if he doe's treat you then make sure you appreciate it and have a lovely day/evening.
